These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of The Bible Tracker (the "App") for iOS and iPadOS. By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
The App is licensed, not sold, to you. Subject to these Terms and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/), you are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control.
The App is a local-only application. There is no account to create, no server-side service to access, and nothing to log in to. Your use of the App does not entitle you to any service or feature delivered from our servers, because there are none.
All data you create in the App — reading log, verses, notes, settings — is stored on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, the data is stored in your own private iCloud database under Apple's terms. We do not host, access, or process your data. The App includes an optional "tip jar" with auto-renewable monthly support subscriptions (three tiers). These tips are voluntary gratuities that support development, not payments for goods or services, and they unlock no functionality beyond a small on-device "Supporter" badge. A subscription renews automatically each month and is charged to your Apple ID until you cancel it in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions (or via the in-app "Manage or cancel subscription" link). All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store; we receive no payment details from you. Refund requests must be made to Apple under Apple's refund policy: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204084. Tips are otherwise non-refundable to the maximum extent permitted by law.
The App ships with canon metadata (book names, chapter counts, testament groupings) and short editorial book overviews. Scripture passages quoted in onboarding or sample content are from translations in the public domain or used under fair use. The App does not ship the full text of any copyrighted Bible translation. Reading plans, heatmaps, streaks, UI, branding, and source code are owned by Caleb Kawano and protected by copyright.

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT REMINDERS WILL ALWAYS BE DELIVERED ON TIME, OR THAT ICLOUD SYNC WILL ALWAYS SUCCEED.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL CALEB KAWANO BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS (TIPS COUNT) OR (B) FIVE U.S. DOLLARS.
You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Caleb Kawano, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised Terms at https://thebibletracker.app/terms. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
